Embracing the Future:
Auditor’s Roles in Creating Business Resiliency and Facing Digital Disruption
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty to all business sectors globally, including Indonesia. All industries have made various innovative breakthroughs to survive so the wheels of business can continue to run. Mobility restrictions and physical distancing policies force companies to run their operations remotely and rely on technology such as video conferencing applications to communicate (both internally within the organization and externally with the clients, customers and the public).
In this period of disturbance, auditors need to quickly adapt to circumstances, particularly in the field of digital transformation. The utilization of innovation provides the option to help auditors in further reinforcing the effectiveness of control measures. As a result, auditors need to balance their knowledge in order not to be run over by technology so they can become strategic partners in corporate dynamics.
In response to the situation, Studi Profesionalisme Akuntan, an organization of accounting students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Indonesia, will conduct an annual event called The 21st Audit Competition, Conference, Training, Seminar, and Company Visit (ATV). This year’s grand theme of the event is “Embracing The Future: Auditor's Roles in Creating Business Resiliency and Facing Digital Disruption". Through this theme, The 21st ATV hopes to provide an overview of auditors’ work in an uncertain future in facing disruptions caused by the pandemic and digital era.
